It remains the correct choice where the device base does not support eSIM, where distribution is physical, or where a single-operator commercial agreement makes remote provisioning unnecessary.

  • Removable eUICC

    A removable eUICC is a SIM card in a standard plastic form factor that can download, store and switch multiple operator profiles over the air. It looks like an ordinary SIM and fits an ordinary SIM slot, but behaves like an eSIM.

    Compliant with GSMA SGP.22. Ships blank or with a bootstrap profile. This is the highest-leverage product for organisations shipping into multiple countries: it collapses per-market SKUs into a single part number and converts a logistics problem into a software problem.

    An MFF2 eSIM is a solderable eUICC chip mounted directly to the device circuit board, with no card slot and no removable part.   • Can a travel brand sell connectivity under its own name?

    Yes. A travel brand can issue eSIM profiles under its own brand using a white-label remote provisioning platform, without becoming a mobile operator. The brand supplies the customer relationship and the distribution moment; the provisioning platform supplies the credential; a data partner supplies the network capacity.

    Your customer lands and immediately needs data. Today they buy it from a travel-eSIM app or absorb their home carrier's roaming rate. That transaction happens inside your journey and outside your P&L.

  • Why does eSIM convert better than a physical travel SIM?

    Because the failure points of a physical SIM are all located at the destination. A traveller buying at an airport kiosk has to find it open, queue, pay in unfamiliar currency, communicate across a language barrier, and swap a card. A traveller with a pre-installed eSIM profile does nothing.

    Travel operators report activation rates of approximately 87% for eSIM against 30–50% for physical kiosk SIMs.

  • What regulations affect travel eSIM?

    Travel eSIM sits in an actively tightening regulatory environment. Several national regulators now restrict the sale of foreign eSIM inside their borders, require remote provisioning to run through domestic operators, mandate identity registration before activation, or prohibit permanent roaming.

    The underlying tension is structural: a travel eSIM keeps the customer a permanent guest on a local network, never registering and never presenting identity. A growing body of SIM-registration and data-localisation law requires precisely the opposite. Both models cannot prevail in every market.

    Three commercial consequences:

    1. Pre-installation is a defensive asset. Profiles installed before arrival continue to function in several markets where purchasing on arrival does not. A travel brand issuing at the point of booking holds a structural advantage over an app-store competitor selling at the gate.
    2. Local profiles outperform roaming profiles in restricted markets. A multi-profile eUICC lets you serve a compliant local profile where regulation demands one, and a roaming profile everywhere else.
    3. Per-market regulatory review is mandatory.
  • What is an eSIM adapter?

    An eSIM adapter is a removable eUICC housed in a standard SIM card body. It lets a handset with a SIM slot but no built-in eSIM download, store and switch eSIM profiles. GSMA SGP.22 explicitly accommodates this: the specification defines a Discrete eUICC as one that "can be removable or non-removable." It is a standards-compliant product category, not a workaround.

  • Why does this work as an eCommerce SKU?

    • It is real hardware. It ships, carries a UPC, photographs well and accumulates marketplace reviews. A QR code does none of these things.
    • It carries recurring attach revenue. Sell the card once, then sell data on it repeatedly through your own storefront.
    • The demand is genuine and unmet. Hundreds of millions of handsets in active use have a SIM slot and no eSIM support. Mid-range Android across South Asia, Africa and Latin America is where the volume sits.
    • It is defensible. A generic reseller cannot clone a specified eUICC carrying your branding and connected to your provisioning backend.

  • What are the limitations of an eSIM adapter?

    Profile management requires software: Native iOS and Android LPAs are designed around embedded eUICC. Managing profiles on a removable eUICC generally needs a companion app or desktop tool. iOS is the known weak point.

    Operator acceptance varies: Some operators whitelist EIDs or decline third-party eUICC. Publish a supported-provider list; never imply "works with any eSIM."

    Certification determines whether it works at all: Some SM-DP+ implementations refuse profile downloads to eUICCs from unrecognised EUMs.

    Marketplace policy: Amazon, eBay and others have restricted telecom-adjacent listings. Verify category rules per marketplace before launch.

What is the difference between a SIM, an eSIM and an eUICC?

A SIM (technically a UICC) is a removable card holding one fixed operator subscription. An eUICC is a SIM platform that can download and switch multiple operator profiles remotely. "eSIM" usually means an eUICC soldered into a device, but a removable card can also be an eUICC. The distinction that matters commercially is remote reprogrammability, not physical shape.

Can an eSIM be removable?

Yes. GSMA SGP.22 defines a Discrete eUICC as one that "can be removable or non-removable." A removable eUICC fits a standard SIM slot while supporting remote profile download and switching — which is what makes single-SKU global shipping possible for devices that already have card slots.

What is the minimum order quantity?

10k for classic SIM, 1k for removable eUICC, 10k for MFF2. . Sample quantities of 5-10 units are available before committing to a production run.

How long does production take?

Standard lead time is 10-20 working days from approval of specification and artwork. Samples ship in 5-10 days. Repeat orders against an approved specification run in 10-20 days.

Can we use our own branding?

Yes, at every product tier. Client-branded, unbranded white, or Switch-branded, with full artwork support. Branding is a finishing option rather than a separate product line — a white-label removable eUICC and a fully branded classic SIM are both standard orders.

Are your SIMs GSMA-certified?

Production and personalisation are performed at a GSMA SAS-UP accredited facility, and subscription management at a SAS-SM accredited facility . Product-level eSIM certification references are listed in our compliance dossier, available under NDA.

What is SGP.32 and do we need it?

SGP.32 is the GSMA remote provisioning architecture for IoT devices. It allows profile management on devices with no user interface, coordinated by an eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM) rather than a human. You need it if you deploy headless devices at scale — smart meters, trackers, industrial sensors — and cannot rely on someone scanning a QR code.

Can you match our existing SIM specification?

Yes. Send your current profile definition, file structure, applet set and OTA parameters and we replicate them, so your provisioning systems, OTA platform and downstream processes need no changes. This is the normal path for buyers migrating supplier without migrating infrastructure.

What happens if a device needs to change network operator after deployment?

On an eUICC, you download a new operator profile remotely and switch to it. No physical access to the device is required. On a classic SIM, the card must be physically replaced. This is the primary reason multi-market fleet operators standardise on eUICC.

Can we sell travel eSIM under our own brand?

Yes. We issue profiles under your brand through white-label remote provisioning, and print serialised QR codes or Universal Links into your existing customer materials. You will need a data partner for network capacity, and you must review regulation in each destination market — some jurisdictions restrict foreign eSIM sales or require domestic provisioning.

Will an eSIM adapter work with any phone and any operator?

No, and any supplier claiming otherwise is overselling. Profile management on a removable eUICC generally requires a companion app, with iOS support the main constraint, and some operators decline third-party eUICC. We supply a compatibility matrix of supported handsets and providers so you can market accurately.

What documentation do you provide for tenders?
